Don’t call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy. Don’t fear what they fear, and don’t be terrified. It is the LORD of heavenly forces whom you should hold sacred, whom you should fear, and whom you should hold in awe.
Isaiah 8:12-13 CEB
Some people are convinced, despite centuries of scientific observation, that the earth is flat. Others are certain the moon landing was a hoax. Still others are fully persuaded that our government is being run by shape-shifting alien lizard people.
Whatever you believe, if you also believe in God, trust that there is no power in the universe that can threaten the LORD of heavenly forces. Our God reigns eternally as a good, just, merciful king, so as long as we focus on the stability of heaven we can live without fear of whatever chaos is taking place on earth (or in outer space for that matter).
Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NIV).
Dear God, let us not be tossed to and fro by the waves of alarmism, but remain steadfastly anchored in the peace of Jesus Christ, our savior, our friend, our God and our king. Amen.
